OUR HISTORY
Audiopax has a history of success both in Brazil and abroad, with numerous international awards not only for its innovative products and technologies but also for its presentations at the world's most important audio shows, where it has achieved an impressive number of "Best of the Show" awards.
Its current product range includes electronics, speakers and accessories, and it provides electrical and acoustic consultancy for listening rooms.
Below is a quick summary of our history.
1997 to 2000 - The Beginning
Launch of the company's first commercial amplifier - the SE310 model, a single-ended amplifier using the 300B tubes, which was successfully presented together with the CX305 speakers at the VSAC Show in Silverdale, USA, our first participation in an international event. In the same year, he developed LM3® technology (Low Mu Triode - Higher Raw Efficiency Emulator - LMTHREE), a circuit that emulates the behavior of the 300B tubes using other tubes, and which was used in the SE388 model amplifiers, with KT88, presented at the 1998 edition of the Hi-Fi Show in São Paulo and at the VSAC Show that same year, with enthusiastic responses in both cases. This same technology was used the following year in the Model 3, a 7.5 W single-ended amplifier based on 6L6 tubes, which together with the CX303 box provided our first international review with John Potis on the Soundstsge website!
2001 to 2010 - From the 303B to the Model 88
In 2001, the Model 88 was launched - a tube amplifier full of technological innovations (possibly the most significant in this category in recent decades) and which has become a true "classic". One of these inventions is Timbre Lock®: a unique, absolutely innovative and exclusive concept that can be described simply as the feature that enables the most convenient interaction between the different components of an audio system, bringing the concept of "synergy" to the customer's command (for the first time an adjustment is aimed at the "whole" and not just one part of the system). In addition to Timbre Lock®, the Model 88 also presented the natural evolution of the concept adopted in the LM3® topology: if we can emulate a certain device (such as the 300B tube or another tube on the market) why not use this same concept to "create" a perfect tube, even one that was never manufactured? This is IDS® - "Ideal Device Simulator", a technology that makes Audiopax amplifiers the only ones in the world to use "Ideal Triodes". The Model 88 has won numerous awards and been featured on the cover of several specialist publications. Reviews all over the world have recognized the innovative technology with brilliant results: it has been on Stereophile magazine's "Class A Recommended Component" list for seven years in a row (an unprecedented feat), received the "Blue Moon Award" from the 6Moons website, the top category from the Brazilian Audio & Video Magazine, an "Industry Award" from the British magazine Hi-Fi News and "Best of The Show" at absolutely every international exhibition and event it has attended. Another revolutionary product was launched in 2004: the Model 5, the first preamplifier to incorporate the Timbre Lock® feature. Its first presentation was at CES 2004, where the Audiopax system consisting of a Model 5 preamplifier playing with Model 88 amplifiers and Ref100 speakers was considered by several audio magazines and websites to be one of the best of the event. The Model 5 followed in the footsteps of the Model 88, receiving enthusiastic reviews around the world, and became part of the reference systems of renowned specialists. New products were introduced in the following years: some variations of the Model 88 (such as the Stereo 88, Model 78 and Model 98), new speakers (such as the Ref150), the Model 55 (the first solid-state amplifier with the Timbre Lock® feature) and the Model 7 (an entry-level preamplifier).

2010 - 2020 - The Transition
A new challenge was taken on in 2011, with the launch of the Maggiore range - a series of devices designed to be the absolute reference in single-ended preamplifiers and amplifiers. The first exhibition of this product line took place at the 2011 Munich High End Show, where we presented the Maggiore M100, the only 100W class a1 single-ended amplifier in the world. Once again our room was considered by several renowned publications (6Moons, Stereotimes, Alen Audio and Bartimex Audio) as one of the best at the show (in some cases, as "the best").
Unfortunately, at the end of 2012, Eduardo de Lima, our founder, passed away. Since then, the company has been run by his partner and long-time friend Sílvio Pereira and his son Lucas de Lima, both of whom are committed to following the same concepts and ideals of innovation and quality.
In 2015, the Maggiore range was added to with the Maggiore L50 reference preamplifier and the Maggiore M50, a 50 W class a1 single-ended tube amplifier. These were two extremely successful products: in a review by Wojciech Pacula for High-Fidelity they were compared in quality to a reference system costing 5 times as much and we received our second "Blue Moon Award" from 6Moons for the Maggiore L50 which, in the words of Srajan Ebaen, was "the guarantee against boredom preamp". Once again we won "Best of the Show" at all the international fairs we attended and from renowned publications such as The Absolute Sound, High-Fidelity and Audiostream (from the Stereophile group), which considered the Audiopax room to be the best system in the whole of High End Munich 2017.
From 2020 - A New Audiopax
As of 2020, the development of the new Reference line has begun, an ambitious step in the evolution of the company's sound signature with the challenge of combining the well-known musicality with an equally impressive level of precision and transparency. It's an extremely complex task, since these concepts are usually mutually exclusive in the market.
The Reference Amp was launched in 2020, the Reference Pre in 2022, the Mandolin Ceramik IIin 2023 and the Reference Phono, our first Phono Pre, in 2024.
